Acid breaks

Acid breaks, also known as chemical breaks, is a subgenre of breakbeat combining the squelching sounds of acid house with a breakbeat rhythm. Characterized by the use of the Roland TB-303 synthesizer, it features resonant low-pass filters and additional distortion. The genre, typically at 120-140 BPM, emphasizes syncopated, broken rhythms and often includes arpeggiation and gate effects to enhance its trippy atmosphere.
